How to Develop a Technician Onboarding Program & Maximize Technician Engagement

Let's be honest — starting a new job is not the most comfortable experience. Every shop has their own unique processes and procedures that even the most senior technicians need to learn. Plus, there are the simple but overlooked things like where is the break room, meeting the team, etc. In this roundtable, we will discuss how to develop a successful onboarding program, and how you can spark technician satisfaction and engagement from day one.

02:30 - 03:30 CT

Flat Rate

Flat Rate: It’s the elephant in the room, and we're talking about it! During this roundtable, we will discuss different ways in which shops structure pay plans for technicians, pros and cons to each, and how pay structure impacts your business.

How Technicians Can Help Solve the Technician Shortage

We often talk about what shops and schools need to do to help solve the technician shortage, but we rarely talk about what technicians can be doing to promote the industry. In this roundtable, we will discuss how technicians can help elevate the industry and get more young people interested in technician careers.

Building a Successful Mentorship Program

One of the best ways shops can retain technicians is by having a successful mentorship program in place. According to Gartner, retention rates for employees who participate in mentorship programs is significantly higher (72% for mentees and 69% for mentors) than for those who don’t (49%). In this roundtable, we will discuss steps shops can take to start developing a mentorship program and best practices for running them.

Driving Employee Recognition in the Service Center

Recognition is a key driver of productivity and motivation for employees, but it’s not as simple as it may seem. In this roundtable, we will discuss the importance of employee recognition and how it can be executed in your service center to drive better results.
